About Me

I am human and I have lived a life. I was in the Navy for a very short while before being discharged due to PTSD. I taught preschool. I waited tables. I worked for a domestic violence agency. I was once an attorney and miserable. I was homeless many times. I have struggled with my mental health and physical health. I was Muslim as a child, Buddhist in my early twenties, Christian in my latter twenties and most of my thirties. I came to find spirituality in 2018 when I was 37 years old. Bumping into spirituality triggered a Dark Night of the Soul that completely destroyed my life as I had known it and then rebuilt me from the ground up.

The rebuilding process has been difficult but not nearly as difficult as living nearly 40 years in the Wilderness of life without knowing the Truth about God. After that initial awakening, the real work of integration began. I have spent the last 5 years stabilizing this new spiritual life throught spiritual study and practice. It did not come all at once. I didn't wake up one day and have the urge to sit in meditation and prayer. I had to learn to sit in the silence and I had to learn to pray.  I had to detoxify my life. I changed my eating habits. I changed the people that I hung around. I stopped consuming news and social media. I detoxified the media I consumed including the movies I watched and songs that I listened too. Some of those things were really easy to get rid of, while others were really freaking hard.  This is really the nutshell version of the story. I am a student of New Thought Ageless Wisdom spirituality. I have studied the teachings of Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith. I am a member of and regularly attend classes and services at both Agape International Spiritual Center and Agape East. This is where I get my Spiritual fellowship and nourishment. Agape is not "church" although the services resemble traditional Christian church with music, prayer, offering, and a sermon. It's all the good of church without the church hurt, guilt, or abuse.  There is no feeling like it. When you come to Agape or its affiliates, whether online or in person, you can feel the Love of God. 

I have worked with an Agape Licensed Spiritual Practitioner (ALSP) since 2021. An ALSP is like a Spiritual therapist or counselor, similar to the pastoral care of the Christian church. I have worked through some heavy stuff and the worst toxicity with my practitioner. I got through the worst PTSD and depression. I am a graduate of Birth Chart School under Vonte Clark.  I have been fascinated by astrology since I was a teenager. No matter what I read, I didn't truly understand astrology and how it reflects the inner and outer workings of our lives  until I met Vonte. Dude is legit.

I am also a serial micro-studier. At the beginning of my awakening, I swapped out mindlessly watching TV, listening to the radio, and scrolling social media for listening to lectures, sermons, and audiobooks or reading spiritual scriptures and books. This was the easiest integration because I was just craving to know more and cutting out mass media significantly reduced my anxiety level.  I needed to keep my mind on God and not the world.
